The messenger your visitors see
The messenger sits in the corner of your website. Visitors ask, your assistant answers, and your team can step in. Change how it looks and behaves in Messenger design.
Answers
- Answers come from your own pages, files and taught answers, with the page each one came from.
- It replies in the visitor's language. The messenger's own buttons and labels are in English; your greeting and questions can be in any language.
- After each answer it suggests up to three follow-up questions, and you can set up to six popular questions on the home screen.
- Visitors can rate each answer, and the whole chat at the end.
- Messages can be up to 2,000 characters.
Make it yours
- Your accent color, light or dark theme (or follow the visitor's device), and sharp, soft or round corners.
- Left or right side of the page, a launcher shape, icon and optional label.
- The assistant's name, your logo, a greeting and a short line under it.
- An optional greeting bubble above the button, after a delay you choose (off on phones by default).
- Your team shown by first name and photo, with a dot when someone is online.
- Home, Chat and Help tabs.
- The small "Powered by Corner" badge comes off on the Builder and Studio plans. Then visitor emails don't carry Corner's name either.
It works on phones too: the chat fits even small screens.
Collecting leads
When a visitor wants a quote, a booking or a call back, or when your pages don't have the answer, the assistant asks for their details right in the chat. Choose the fields (name, email, phone; email or phone is required) and when to ask: when it's useful (the default), after the first answer, or before the chat starts. A consent line is included.
Each lead lands in Leads with the conversation, and you get an email. Mark leads as contacted, won or lost, and download them as CSV.
Talking to a person
Visitors can choose Talk to a person (you can switch it off). The chat appears in your Inbox; when a teammate takes it over, the assistant stops answering until you hand it back.
- You show as online while the dashboard is open, you've been active in the last 30 minutes and you aren't set to Away. There's no opening-hours schedule: set yourself to Away when you're off.
- When nobody is online, visitors see your away message and can leave an email or phone number.
- Tell visitors how fast you usually reply: in minutes, an hour, a few hours or a day.
- If a visitor left their email and you reply after they've gone, your reply is emailed to them.
Booking, WhatsApp and call buttons
Add up to 8 quick links: a page, any web link, a phone number, an email address, WhatsApp, Instagram, your booking page or a file. They show in the messenger, and the assistant can put the right one under an answer, like a Book a table button when someone asks about reservations. These are links: Corner doesn't connect to calendars or WhatsApp accounts.
Nudges
Nudges are short messages that pop up from the messenger on pages you choose: after some time on the page, after scrolling, when a visitor is about to leave, or for returning visitors. Each can carry up to three tap-to-ask replies. Corner can write them from your own pages.
They're polite by default: one per page view, each nudge once per visit, and none after a visitor closes one. The number switched on at once depends on your plan.
Help articles
Write help articles in Corner. They show in the messenger's Help tab and on public help pages you can link to, and your assistant uses them to answer.
Files, ratings and chat copies
- Visitors can attach photos (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF) and PDFs up to 10 MB, unless you switch it off. Every file is checked for viruses, and photos lose their location data. Files are kept 30, 90 (the default) or 365 days.
- Visitors can download a PDF copy of the chat or have it emailed to an address they confirm.
- Quiet chats close on their own after 24 hours by default (or 1, 4 or 72 hours, or never). Chats waiting for your team never close.
